What Is It?
Unless you’re interested in becoming a hairstylist, this app is just for the kids. After the player picks a model, the styling can begin. From there, the character can get a complete makeover.
First, the player starts with the haircut and then moves on to styling and color. Eventually, the character gets some fun accessories like glasses and a hat. When the model is ready to go, the app lets you take a snapshot to show off your creation.
Sadly the models aren’t very diverse. Toca gives the player six different models to choose from with unclear ethnicity. You can change the hair color, but not the skin tone. While I’m against in-app purchases for kids’ games, it might be nice to buy some new characters in this case.
Who Is It Good For?
Obviously, this is a kid’s app. I’d say it’s targeted toward the preschool and grade school crowd. The player needs to understand the concepts of scissors and a comb, but that’s about all they need. There’s no action here; it is all about creativity. With all the options, the end results can get silly and fun.
Should You Download It?
The app loads fine on my iPhone 5s. It’s less than 100 MB, so it doesn’t take up much space. I’ll keep this one on the iPhone for those times a youngster needs a coloring book. This app should satisfy some of their creative urges. Comment Name * Email *
