Nvidia has already begun rolling out the new Shield Experience Upgrade 8.2.1 yesterday. It will include fixes for various audio issues as well as connectivity and support issues. In this article, we bring you a list of all these changes that will be coming in with the new update.

IR Enhancements and Audio Upgrades

IR enhancements to the Nvidia Shield TV remote will be one of the most important upgrades coming with Shield Experience 8.2.1. It will enable the remote to control projectors using Alexa and will also extend IR support for more companies. Nvidia Shield’s power and volume IR features will now also support Dayton, Atyme, ONN, BC Acoustique, Monoprice, Sennheiser, Kora, Point Source Acoustics, Tascam and Arris. Additionally, it will also improves audio volume levels of the system when it is routed to Bluetooth headset or USB DAC. AI Upscaling Fixes

It will also be providing notification to enable AI-upscaling whenever GeForce NOW upscale itself. The new upgrade also attempts to resolves issue where AI upscaling would incorrectly/randomly detect content as unsupported. Nividia is also resolving dropped frames issues during overscan adjustments during 60fps video AI upscaling. It will also fix bugs that caused the system to display a line during AI upscaling on Prime Video. Bug Fixes for Network and Audio Issues

Nvidia Shield Experience Upgrade 8.2.1 will allow users to enter special characters in username while accessing SHIELD over network. It also fixes the rare crash bug issues when mounting network storage to Shield and another bug reportedly experienced while copying more than 2GB data from Mac to Shield. Additionally, the list of latest bug fixes also included the one that caused connected storage to become inaccessible and required reboot for recovery. Some Nvidia Shield Android TV Pro users had also reported issues with IR volume control when they enabled the Talkback feature and Long Press Menu functionality for customized menu button. Latest Nvidia Experience 8.2.1 also resolves these two issues. It also resolves background display issue when exiting settings menu, YouTube crash bug and alignment issues on Ok Google’s configuration page.
