Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats said, “Apple Music and Siri are natural partners and already work seamlessly together. Siri is actively used on hundreds of millions of devices worldwide, so we are thrilled to add this new plan that delivers an effortless music experience just through voice command and makes Apple Music accessible to even more people around the world.” The Voice Plan app will be available in 17 countries and regions, including Australia, Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
How does Apple Music Voice Plan work?
Users can activate the subscription with the magic words, “Hey Siri, start my Apple Music free trial,” or they can just sign into the app. That’s all! Now, they can play the music on all Siri-enabled devices like HomePod mini, AirPods, iPhone, or any other Apple device. Subscribers can enjoy the music as per their preferences or the queue of recently played music through Siri.
Apple Music Voice vs other music apps
The Apple Music Voicedoesn’t allow subscribers to control the music list manually like other music apps. This feature makes it different from the other apps as it works on voice command. Another downside, the app will only show the suggested and the recently played songs. With an Apple Music Voice Plan, you can’t use the Apple Music app to manually control your listening experience like you can on other subscription tiers. It is restrained to show music suggestions and your recent listening history. There is also a special section to help you learn how to interact with Apple Music via Siri voice commands. The subscribers can also optimise Siri for apple music under the section ‘Just ask Siri’.
