If You Unarchive a Post on Instagram Does it Repost
If you decide to unarchive a post on Instagram, you are essentially reposting it. Maybe you originally archived a post because your mom made you mad, and you wanted to take back the lovely Mothers Day post you shared about her. However, you guys had a heart-to-heart, and now you feel bad about archiving the post. Now, you want that photo of the two of you back on your feed. Thus, you unarchive the image. You may be worried that all of your followers will be alerted to the fact that you unarchived a picture, and it will appear on their feed again like you just posted it. Do not worry. Instagram does not notify your followers if you unarchive a post. There are unlimited reasons why you might want to unarchive something you previously posted. Instagram gets that, and that is why this feature is available. If Instagram did not allow this, then you would have to repost it, and all of your followers would see that you wanted this picture back up on your profile as it appears on their feed. The fact that you can unarchive a post is offered to avoid showing your followers that you want to have a picture back as it would appear on their feed. Your followers can only tell if you decide to unarchive a post if they are viewing your profile and noticed that you archived the post. Since the picture is back up, they will learn that you have decided to unarchive it. So, unless someone is heavily stalking your Instagram account, you are in the clear for anyone seeing that you unarchived a post on their feed. Instagram also does not notify people that a post they were tagged in has been unarchived. However, if you decided to archive a post and then want to unarchive it before two days have passed since you originally posted it, it will appear on your followers’ feed. This is because Instagram believes that not everyone will see your post within two days of you posting it. Therefore, the picture will reappear on your followers’ feed because not everyone got to see it initially in the short time you had it posted. However, since it has only been two days since you posted it, people will not atomically assume that you decided to archive and then unarchive it. Most of your followers will think Instagram is showing them the post again. That is it. Very few people will assume they are seeing your post again due to it being archived and then unarchived. When you scroll through your feed and see a post a couple of days later, your mind does not think that someone archived that post and then unarchived it. You just think Instagram is showing you a post again for whatever reason. So, while there might be some people who heavily think about why they are seeing a post again and might conclude that you archived and then unarchived a post, a majority of your followers will not even question why your post is appearing again on their feed.

How to Know If Someone Unarchived A Post on Instagram
You can either memorize someone’s Instagram page to tell if they have unarchived a post, or you screen record someone’s Instagram page. Then, when you think someone has unarchived a post, you can compare your screen recording to their current posts or use your memory. Doing this will let you figure out what posts they decided to unarchive. If you are unsure how to screen record their Instagram page, follow these steps if you use an IOS device.
- Start by opening up Instagram on any IOS device that you have.
- Next, click Search in the lower left of your screen.
- Now, search for their account and click on it.
- Scroll down from the top of your screen on your IOS device with two fingers.
- Click on the button from your widget page with one thin circle surrounding a larger circle.
- Wait three seconds, and your IOS device will start screen recording.
- Slowly scroll through their Instagram page.
- Once you are at the bottom of their page, click on the very top-left side of your screen. This area will be red.
- Then, tap on Stop. Your screen recording will be saved to your photos. Follow these steps if you use an Android device instead of an IOS device.
- Start by opening up Instagram on any Android device that you have.
- Next, click Search in the lower left of your screen.
- Now, search for their account and click on it.
- Swipe down twice on your Android screen.
- Click on the button from this page with one thin, broken circle surrounding a larger circle. If you do not see this icon, swiper right, tap Edit, and click on Screen Recording.
- Select Start and your Android will start screen recording after the count down.
- Slowly scroll through their feed.
- Once you are at the bottom of their posts, swipe down from the top of your screen. Tap on the screen recorder icon again to stop.
- Your screen recording will be saved to your photos. Once you have completed these steps, you can access your screen recording anytime. Watch your screen recording if you notice someone has more posts than before. Then, go to their page and figure out what posts they unarchived. You can screen re-record their feed once someone has unarchived a post, or you can use your original screen recording for any future unarchived posts. Another way you can tell if someone unarchived a post is by looking at the number of likes the questionable post has compared to their other posts. If a post you think has been unarchived has fewer likes than others, this is a good sign that they did unarchive it. When this happens, it most likely means they unarchived it recently after posting it. If they decided to archive a post and then want to unarchive it before two days have passed since they originally posted it, it would appear on their followers’ feed again. This is because Instagram believes that not everyone will see their post within two days of them posting it. Thus, not as many people will like it because they thought they already liked it when it was first posted.
