Initially, IBM will run a pilot project in 1,000 schools to test its new syllabus in several cities including Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. The pilot project will begin with an awareness programme for the school principals. Additionally, the awareness drive will be followed by a training program for the teachers. CBSE also said that the course curriculum for AI will include five phases of training for the students. IBM and CBSE will comprehensively evaluate the new syllabus based on the performance of the students. The syllabus will teach students some of the fundamental concepts of AI such as orientation on AI, ideation and areas for AI deployment, etc. CBSE has assured that the AI curriculum will only be implemented after successful completion of the pilot project. The course is also likely to include a capstone project. This project will give them an opportunity to work under the guidance of industry experts and learn about advanced prototype development. Top students will also get a chance to showcase their projects. The new curriculum is being designed in consultation with several subject experts and a special team constituted of IBM professionals. With over 20,000 affiliated schools in the country and 220 schools abroad, the latest move is aimed at ensuring more students can learn about AI in the school itself to prepare them for the future workforce.

Moreover, Microsoft had also revealed that it will conduct Capacity Building Programs for high school teachers in India. The training program will train teachers of class 8th, 9th and 10th in cloud computing technology. The programme is set to be initially launched in 10 cities across the country. It will provide teachers to learn and integrate the latest Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools into teaching in a secure manner. CBSE will nominate 1,000 teachers for the 3-day project-based training program which will include hands-on training on Microsoft 365 tools like Flipgrid, Outlook, OneNote, etc.
