It was only on the 2nd October that President Trump revealed that he and the first lady, Melania Trump, had tested positive for Coronavirus. The president is undergoing COVID treatment at the Walter Reed Military Medical Centre in Bethesda, Washington DC and Melania Trump is being treated at the White House. With Trump infected with Coronavirus, the entire nation’s leadership now seems uncertain as he will no longer be able to carry on with his campaign. With only 30 days until Election Day, Trump has temporarily withdrawn himself from the campaign trail. Although US President Donald Trump has said in a video on Twitter that he is “starting to feel good” and “will be back soon.” However, White House physician Sean Conley has said the president is “not yet out of the woods”. The White House has not yet released an official statement explicating how long Mr. Trump would have to remain isolated, but Donald Trump has canceled his plans to fly to Florida to partake in a campaign rally. In fact, several other officials working at the Executive mansion have contracted the infection since Trump and Melania test COVID 19 positive. The administration, however, is not really divulging details regarding Donald Trump’s health condition.
Is Donald Trump Critical?
Even if Mr. Trump does not become seriously ill, the positive test can hamper his political fortunes especially after him repeatedly ignoring the advice of the scientists regarding the ravaging effects of the COVID virus that is taking the lives of about 1,000 Americans every day. Donald Trump to date has maintained the virus was “going to disappear,” and asserted that it was under control, and insisted that the country was “rounding the corner” to the end of the crisis. He in fact refused to wear a mask in public and has repeatedly raised questions on their effectiveness. Donald Trump recently reopened schools in some states of the US and had outrightly dismissed health concerns. He had even ordered businesses to return to full operation. It is of grave concern how the political campaign will now take place as Donald Trump is COVID positive.
