For a person who has not missed any episodes of ‘Force Five’ or the animated ‘Batman’ series, Borderlands proves to be a wonderful treat from the beginning itself. Now the game is coming up with sequel due for a release on September 18, 2012. Its wide variety of characters and the unique setting of Pandora make it a delight to watch and play. The game with its cartoon-style graphics renders it a surrealistic effect. Besides, the game reinvents itself in its second edition with a lot of new customizations befitting to it. Some of its unique features in the second edition include the introduction of a gore filter, which can be applied judiciously as per the preference of the gamer. Even the editing of the first game was uncalled for with the game being treated for the extra violence and a toned down version released for many countries. But now, one can just opt for the Gore Toggle option and have a neater version of the game. I prefer the ‘dirty bit’ one any day. Also, news has just come in that the game’s lead characters will have cool customization options in their appearance. Considering the whacky nature of their appearances, a customization would render them more interesting for the gamers. But it waits to be seen whether it would be taken to the next hilt by the game developers. The coming of another character ‘Mechromancer’ also adds some newness to the game and who knows the upcoming sequels (Yes, the game looks bound for another sequel) may feature more playable characters for our gaming pleasure. But, hold your controllers, you only get to lay your controls on Mechromancer with a pre-order version or comes at an additional price for the late comers. The character has the ability to command mechs such as the Deathtrap. And if you are a member of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, then you will get her as a free download. One of the most discussed aspects of Borderlands 2 is the AI, which is much more responsive and boosts the game play in a big way. Besides, those who love their guns would appreciate the improvement in the weaponry and details in the attack options as shown in the trailer. The game improves alongside the gamer and thus makes the prize worth the effort. It really reminds one of the old school games, which had multiple levels with enhanced player controls with every victory. Gearbox has hit a winner with this game, which has registered the third highest pre-order revenues for the publishers 2K Games behind their hit franchise GTA 4 and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This is a remarkable achievement for a game that has done it in a short period of less than three years with only two titles. The first title has done a cool 4.5 million copies since its release and by the looks of this edition, it would be just a start for an epic adventure!
