Futuristic yet practical, the new Apple MackBook Air with magnetic charger is planned to be released in the second half of 2021 or in early 2022. It is said to comprise Apple’s MagSafe charging technology and a next-generation version of the company’s in-house Mac processors. Apple is also said to be working on making the laptop more compact and handier by shrinking the border around the screen, which will remain 13-inches. The current MackBook Air model weighs 2.8 pounds and is just over half an inch at its thickest point. MagSafe, which was earlier removed from the 2018 MacBook Air redesign, is a magnetic charging system. That means any accidental yanking of the power cable would simply detach it from the laptop rather than pull down the entire computer. Apple is known for designing products that are atypical yet the best as well as unparalleled. The new model will have a pair of USB 4 ports for connecting external devices. The new thinner & lighter version of MacBook Air is expected to be a higher-end or premium version of the current MacBook Air, which is likely to remain in the company’s lineup as an entry-level offering. Apple last updated the MacBook in November 2020 and added its own M1 Mac chip, by replacing the processor from Intel Corp. But we are not sure how soon these features will be rolled out. Face ID had originally been planned to arrive in this year’s iMac redesign, but it is quite unlikely that it will be included in the first iteration of the new design. Apple is also planning to T bring back an SD card slot for the next MacBook Pros to enable users to use memory cards from digital cameras. The company had removed this feature 2016, thus causing it to lose key segments of the MacBook Pro user base, including professional photographers and video creators. It is also planning to remove the Touch Bar, the current model’s touchscreen function row to meet the consumers’ demand.
